52 Projects – Wk 7 – The study

This weeks project is a household one.  My study has needed sorting and clutter clearing for quite some time.  So does my music and teaching books.  And outside in the yard.

This week for 52 Projects I decided to tackle these much needed projects.  I was going to after before and after photos from both the study and outside, but we have decided to go away for the long weekend and I only one project got done – the study.

From this before photo, you can see the disastrous state it was in.  No room to do anything at all.  Stuff all over the place.  Looks like a storm went to through it.

To the right of the photo, out of sight are built in robes.  I didn’t do before and after photos of them, but they were the major part of the project and the first place to start.  I think they took me about 2-3 hours to organise.  A lot of clutter clearing – I threw out a full garbage bag of stuff!

Now the wardrobe is neatly organised with all my craft work easily accessible and D’s stuff in neat boxes.  I’m so happy to have easy access to my organised craft materials!

Next it was onto the rest of the bomb.  It took me probably another couple of hours to sort through papers and other piles.

There are still a few neat piles that I need to go through, but they aren’t the important things.  Things like recipes and keepsakes.  All things that would make a good project to do another week!

So, this week’s 52 Projects is quite different again.  A household project that absolutely needed doing.  There has been very little time for anything else this week.  But now I have a beautifully organised giving me space to both work and create!

And here it is…  The after photo!!

YEAH Annie! Looking incredibly fabulous. Doesn't it just change the whole energy of the place? Great job, Woman. Rock on!

Wow. This is really inspiring. My home office looks just like the before and I keep avoiding it. Maybe it is time to do it. That after picture looks so calm and like a place to create peaceful thoughts.

Fantastic. Don't you just love how a "new" space feels!

Kudos for the guts to share your mess with the world!

It really IS inspiring. My head felt immediately clearer just looking at the 2nd photo. Hope you get inspired to create beautiful things in the newly restored space. I further hope you inspire me, because I could fill up all 52 weeks with similar tasks.

wow, i'm moving in! jk..it's so true, a have a headache and can't breathe when my house is a mess, which now that i think about it is most of the time....now we all clean every day...it's just that with 10 it only stays that way for...maybe an hour.

Hey thanks everyone! It's been great working in a clean environment all week. Although I must admit, it is hard to keep it that way. You get started on a project and all of a sudden, stuff is strewn all over the desk. But thank goodness, I have been concerted and have always tidied up!! It still looks the same!! :)

I have an office that needs serious decluttering too. And it will take me all day to do it. I don't know if I should allocate a day, or do it in increments over a week.
Because it hasn't been done, I'm thinking taking a day will work best.
It doesn't look cluttered until the closet is opened. :)
Wish me luck!
