Okay, so I'm way behind in keeping up with 52 Projects and it's not because of lack of doing projects in fact quite the opposite. The projects have been occurring thick and fast, there simply has been no time to document them. Two weeks worth is enough for one week, so I will catch up with the next two for next week.
The last three weeks have been flat chat. Last weekend was our engagement celebrations and the weekend before that we hosted Mum's 80th birthday celebrations at our home. As a result, we were madly trying to get things completed before Mums birthday and then to get ready for our engagement party with two events on both Saturday and Sunday. (I'll do another post about that later!) All events went tremendously well!! And now, several days later, on Thursday, I am starting to recover from many weeks of preparation, organisation, stress and illness for both of us!
These two projects were the essential ones to finish before Mum's 80th.
Garden Part 3
Firstly, I have finally added the photos for Part 2 - go check it out here!
For this weekend and two more nights of work we:
- Lay down the weed mat on the back yard beds.
- Planted the new plants.
- Placed the irrigation lines next to the baby plants.
- Talked to the plants!!
- Placed the mulch on top of the weed mat and around the new plants.
- Taught M not to get into the garden bed - just one yelling at did the job - he is such a good boy. (plus a few reminders during the week. Gosh he is hilarious! He knows what he is not supposed to do. Now he needs no reminders).
- The following weekend, after a week of watering by hand everyday, we put in the drippers into the irrigation line and set up the right dripping speed.
A close up of the photinia robusta
The bad-ass concrete setting in the far corner and the new colourful setting in it's old place. The kangaroo paws and the new grasses.
These two photos show the mulch and the irrigation lines done.
We are getting there!!!
Workbench and BBQ Table finished!
At long last, I can show you the finished workbench and bbq table. Nothing like the deadline of a lot of visitors coming to get things completed!!
The BBQ Bench - granite all neatened up, shelves in.
D loved having this workspace for doing the bbq'ing for our engagement barbie! And all up it cost about $5!!!! See Part 1 for the details and the before photos.
The workbench in the carport.
The framework painted black and the shelves neatened up.
The right side is my area for doing projects with my paint brushes and glue etc. on my little shelf.
The rest is D's. He has his tools outlined and hung on the backboards, his press drill covered and protected with a garbage bag (just in case the rain sneaks in!), there are nails and screws etc. in glass jars on the shelves, a little tool box on the bench, a bench clamp and wood, steel and other useful things stacked on the benches underneath.
He LOVES his workbench. And it has made it SO much easier and quicker for him to do little odd jobs as well as bigger jobs around the house.
See here for Part 1, and Part 2. The before photos in Part 1 tell the story!!
And that's it for this week!!!
Phewwwww!!!
Seeya!

Please come to my house please please please. I will follow you around as you organize me and type up your blog posts. All those great projects. C'mon. I'll make chocolate chip cookies and coffee.
Don't feel bad when you fall behind. I started 52 Projects and I have really fell behind lately :)) And not because I don't have projects. I've got zillions. Some weeks are just too full. I'm so grateful for your continued participation.
Everything looks FABULOUS in your yard. I love the painted furniture. I hope all the celebrations were the happiest ever!!
You and D are quite a talented couple. I continue to be impressed with what you are doing.
I am so over the moon for you two! Such accomplishments. Your place is looking absolutely fabulous! I'm so pleased all your celebrations were total successes. Can't wait to the next installment.
I agree with Anita, you and D are awesome together. I like a challenge, but you are something else. I don`t know if I have it in me to complete one much less 52 projects. *Kudos*
Wonderful blog! Keep writing!
