Our Photos
In the process of getting ready for Mum's 80th, I also looked at the inside of the house as well as the garden. I had been racking my brain for a couple of months trying to come up with more rearranging ideas for a better layout. Finally the ideas came, and for the first time since D moved in and we combined our furniture, I really like what I have come up with!
Along with the re-arranging, came re-decorating the walls with our photos. I bought white edged photo frames of various shapes and sizes and, together, we chose our best photos to print out, some to have enlarged and then to frame them all.
We are so happy with the result, and have had no end of comments on how great they all look. The difference that it is has made to the house is HUGE! And it has all been such a great talking point with our guests over the last two weeks!
I've been wanting to do this for a long time and am really glad to have completed this project. Now, every time we take a new photo that we like, we can easily print it out, or have it enlarged and replace one of the others. We are going to get a proper way of storing the prints and we can continuously change the photos we display.
Here are the photos I printed myself from our printer. They are sitting on top of their frames drying. You need to let them sit for 24 hours before framing.
And here are two of the enlarged photos on one wall. The rest of the photo frames are scattered throughout the house. Our goal was to be tasteful and spacious and not let any area feel cluttered with photos.

Thank You Cards
With any engagement comes presents and congratulation cards. So, also with any engagement, comes sending out loads of thank you cards!! Oh boy!
Because we took so long to have our party, we had already received some gifts from both family and friends. So, I wanted to have thank you cards ready for those people, to give them their thank you cards at the party.
I searched all over our local shopping centre trying to find something decent and come up with zilch. One, they weren't interesting. Two, they were so expensive!
So I figured it was time for a little creative project!
I kept them very simple. I have a lot to do. But I really enjoyed it.
- I used cardstock and cut the cards to size.
- Then, in Word, I created text boxes to size for both the front cover and middle section.
- I did a simple thank you for the front cover.
- And typed out each individual thank you in a multitude of text boxes. It was great to be able to be write something unique to fit each person and their gift.
- Then printed them out, cut them to size with the guillotine and stuck them to the cardstock.
- And just a little bit of decoration on the front with a shape cutter and more cardstock!
- Nice and simple!
Photo 1 - The work area - guillotine, cardstock, coloured paper, glue, cards given to us in which I had written the gift that that person gave.
Photo 2 and 3 - inside and out (blurred writing for privacy!)
Now, post party, I have something like 40 more to do!!!

Just gorgeous, Annie! Love everything you are doing. I have made my own cards with photos I've taken. I have gotten wallet size photos made of flowers, scenery, architecture, and attached them to response cards (small cards you usually find in wedding invitations) that I get at a local stationer. These are also very nice as gifts.
Hugs...Rebecca
Two impressive, personal Projects that are sure to touch everyone that sees them. The thank you cards look professional and the photo, from what I can make out, look fantastic. Great job(s)!
Sorry, I meant to write "photos".
I love all of the organization and cleaning projects you guys have been doing. And I love the thank you notes. Awesome shade of purple!
